Malaysia has spent years positioning itself as a regional education destination, and for hospitality, tourism and aviation specifically it offers a useful combination: a developed international hotel sector, a substantial low-cost aviation industry based around Kuala Lumpur, and a tourism economy spanning city, island and Borneo nature destinations.
